I agree. Pick-n-Mix seems like a good place for most good monsters. Monsters that could become a major part of a campaign could be a separate stand-alone product with a higher price. I would pay more for something with the details of, say Ronin Arts' The Possessors. In fact I did buy it and really like it.

It depends very much on the creature and how central it can become to an adventure or even a campaign. I think the amount of work that you described is worth more than $1, probably not over $3.

We'll see about the Pick and Mix I guess. I just emailed Russ a copy of our first PnM monster - the Frost Giant Noble. Two pages, with a piece of art and a whole new set of rules for stomping PCs. Personally, .49 cents seems a little high for me, but If it has two full pages, art, AND is interesting it could be worth it. I think I did that with the Noble, but I could be biased. lol.

I can see the PnM monsters growing largely through reputation and word of mouth.

Pick'n'mix is something that, if people are buying similar products at that particular time, they'll buy them up ... Especially if ENGS has a new release that's JUST under 5 dollars - then people will buy the P&M to avoid charges.

Personally, I think 49 cents is PERFECT. Very often I buy a book that, after all is said and done, I use about 10-20% of the entire work ... And the actual page-of-use value becomes much worse :(
