I am 100% moocher!
Historically, that's been true: I've just tended to use other people's books, or ask for stuff for my birthday or Christmas.
Come to think of it, my first D&D boxed set (ye olde blue box!) was a Christmas present. I think I had bought whatever the basic game book was before that, though.
In the '80s, I bought most of the hardcover AD&D books, but also a fair amount of GURPS, Champions, and Rolemaster.
In the '90s? Not much. I didn't buy a single D&D book or product in the '90s. Some of my Rolemaster and MERPS purchases might have been in the early '90s, and I probably picked up on or more Champions editions in that decade. I'm sure there was some other odds and ends, like Tri-Stat and Adventure.
The late '90s and 2000s saw a lot of rpg books arriving in the mail from a friend who wound up with more store credit at a comic book and gaming store than he knew what to do with, but there was so much of it and so little of it saw any real use, that I couldn't possibly list it. MnM stands out - I actually ran and played that. Godlike and Smallville, too. I bought a lot of dice and minis in the 2000s, too. A lot of homebrew gaming happened in the 2000s for my group, and we played a lot fo one-shots and very short runs of new games. I played D&D 3E and 4E, but never bought books - just more dice and minis!
In the 2010s my gaming book intake cratered. There wasn't much gaming going on in my circles.
It's been pretty much
all D&D 5E purchases in the past 4 years, since that's what my gang is playing and enjoying.
