How much time do you spend actually playing?

I want to add: I said 3/4 of the time actually playing.

The other 1/4 is spent talking and/or eating. We'd chat about people we know and the crazy stuff they've been pulling off, about this or that movie, stuff like that. Arguing about the rules is virtually unheard of. Sometimes we briefly discuss stuff, but I can't remember any arguments about it in the current group.

How much of your game time is devoted to "game time" and how much of it is a bunch of people hanging out and socialising?

We meet at 5.30, start at 6, finish up at 11.30. So 6 hours where we are together. Of that, the first 30 min goes to eating and setting up, and the rest of the time is pretty much game time, maybe take out 10-15 minutes at the max, when we get sidetracked and start talking about good old times (7 guys nearing midthirties that have known each other since kindergarden or so)

So about 87,5% efficiency on a normal night.

That said, non-usual stuff like character deaths etc usually call for longer breaks.

I don't play unless I'm being paid. When the check clears, I start rolling dice, and I stop according to our contract.
