I like to mix it up. I don't like to run my game as full comedy. I don't mind the occasional silly game, but I wouldn't enjoy an entire campaign that was silly—that would get old quick.

How seriously do I take it? Well I take it very seriously as I am working on an adventure that I hope to publish and make a little money on.

How seriously do I take it when I play, depends on the group, in the game I run, it’s beer and nacho’s so we have some fun and some laughs.

In the PBP game I’m in, I take it seriously because it’s a serious game.

Very serious. You are only allowed to have fun with the DMs explicit permission. Or if you roll on the randon harlot table.

No one under the age of 40 is allowed to play unless the have played AD&D and can recite the complete works of Gygax backwards. Also being proficient in latin and aramaic is also required. If you can recite the complete works of Gygax backwards in aramaic and latin though you get 10% xp bonus if you rolled a 13 and 15 in your prime stats.

You call that serious? At my table, the players are forced to roleplay it out when they roll on the random harlots table. We're all overweight middle-aged guys, and the DM delegates the role of the NPC. No fun is involved, I assure you.
