How the heck to you pronounce this?!

Oh - it's worth noting that I too have always pronounced it "dwee-oh-mur".

Only I pronounce it WITH the quotes.

See, I make this special sort of gurgling sound, and...

;)

...you say to-may-toh, I say to-mah-toh, let's call the whole thing off...

Anyone know how to pronounce chutzpah? I'm told you use a sound from the back of your throat for the "chutz" part, so it ends up sounding like hoots-pah with sort of a hiccupy sound. Is this correct?

Piratecat, you actually RECOMMENDED the DUCK TOUR?! I remeber taking that thing on a field trip about half a decade ago and it was boring as hell! DO NOT GO ON THE DUCK TOUR NO MATTER HOW INTERESTING AN AMPHIBIOUS VEHICLE SOUNDS!

Just to be different, I will say that I've always pronounced it DWIM-uh. I don't quite know where I picked that up from...

Hey, Lizzie was acquitted of all charges. (Cheesy tv movies starring Elizabeth Montgomery notwithstanding.)

Hmmmm, I guess every 100 years or so, our country has one of those. Lizzie, OJ--I wonder who it was in the 1790s....

Anyway, the murder house is now a Bed-and-Breakfast. I kid you not: http://www.lizzie-borden.com/ - "Guests are treated to a breakfast similar to the one the Bordens ate on the morning of the murders, which includes bananas, jonny-cakes, sugar cookies and coffee in the addition to a delicious meal of breakfast staples." While at the bed-and-breakfast, be sure to visit the gift shop so you can purchase a custom made wooden Christmas Ornament of Lizzie Borden House....

Yes, this is correct. It should sound vaguely like you're attempting to hock up a loogie. :D

Well, duh. You were using 2nd edition duck boats. They got shafted. I think they're fun! You're on an amphibious vehicle quacking at people; what could be better than that?

Interestingly enough, the Oxford English Dictionary (despite having cool words like "dwerg," an obsolete word for dwarf,) does NOT have "dweomer" listed. Dweomercraeft yes, dweomer no. Wacky.
