Three feet around sounds like an awfully thick snake. That sounds like a reasonable limit.

Snakes are different. I have seen some Cottonmouths that look freakin' fat. Then copperheads are lean mean striking beast. Your snake is a monster and easlier can be 40 to 50 feet in lenght.
