I missed that first time around. Thank you :)

I think the best way to get their attention is to create a website for your cause . . . and then mention said designers by name.

www.goblindefensefund.org

We will be heard, Mr. Mearls. We will be heard.

EDIT: Crap, this is a necro-thread? 2003?! Ah, well, I suppose there's a chance he'll read it nonetheless . . .

I read through the entire thread before I reached this point, having no idea that it was four years old. (Doesn't say much for my powers of observation, I know...) It's certainly applicable to the current state of events and I'm glad to have read it. Thank you for the moment of introspection, Dave (and Mr. Mearls, of course)!

Lets hope that Mr. Mearls is listening to some of the good discussions going on over at the 4e board. There are plenty of "this sucks" posts, but many thoughtful ones as well.

Well, he's on his honeymoon, so hopefully he's only paying attention to the Mrs. at this time. ;)

He's probably statting her up right now, 4E style. I hope he doesn't limit her special abilties to only those she can use in a single encounter.

Congrats and have fun, Mearls! :D

If a sudden stream of "GR Sux" threads popped up, you bet I'd be concerned.

Chris,
Green Ronin will continue getting no criticism from me as long as the crew keeps doing what they are doing. I think your company slogan about d20 done right is completely correct. Your products whether M&M, True20 or generic d20 DND are always at the top of my list of favored products. Advanced Bestiary, Psychic's Handbook, Shaman's Handbook and the Witch's Handbook are examples of the products that I wish WOTC would produce instead of the fair they put out (although I do like WOTC's monster books like Dragonmicon and Fiendish Codex I).

I work in publishing, and I can tell nothing sucks more than when a customer returns proofs with something marked on it that reads "WRONG" or "??" or just circles something. It's just about the same thing when someone on the 'Net says "X products sucks." It's just not constructive.

If I had a mind control device, I would do my best to make sure anyone who had a comments of "X SUCKS" would then be compelled to and "...and here's why...."

At least if you know why someone thinks something sucks, you can take steps to make improvements if the complaint is valid. Sometimes, of course, the complaint is invalid even if the poster expounds on their comment.

Like this:
Mutants and Masterminds sucks because green flying vomit cuts rock greenly Vermont.

I don't really think M&M sucks (in fact, I want to play M&M more than any game I've been recently exposed to, but just can't find a GM for it), I just wanted to type a nonsensical comment.
