Clerics can always use Entropic Shield

Even if you houserule that disintegration destroys the target's equipment, the majority of opponents generally don't carry any equipment.

As far as I am concerned, if you ever go up against a 11th or higher level Wizard and you fail a save against one of his top shelf spells, the last thing you should be whining about is how much damage he did.

Doubly so for the DM (with respect to the POV of his NPCs).
