how to crank that spell DC up...

Anyways, I havn't seen any reason to use Mind Fog yet, as it has a Will save itself, it seems more useful to cast a spell with a more tangible effect directly.

The best use of Mind Fog is before a Chain Spell, which have hopeless DCs (due to lower casting level and the -4 for chaining). Mind Fog followed by Chained Hold Person can easily win a combat against opponents with average-ish Will saves; Chained Hold Person alone is unlikely to work, and, given the 3.5 version of Hold, is unlikely to continue working for long enough to CDG your opponents!

Of course, Touch of Idiocy is a d6 of Wisdom Damage - and can't realistically lower a 9th level Cleric's Wisdom to 12.

Assuming a starting stat of 16 (which is a little on the low side in many games) - the Cleric will have put both stat bumps into Wisdom and invested in a Wisdom Item or spell.

You aren't going to see a 9th level Cleric with a Wisdom of less than 20 - and unless you roll max and empower it, he's still going to be casting 4th or 5th level spells.

Hmm so ALL your clerics have Wis 20 at lvl 9? Seems to me that there would be a verity of wis scores and not all being cookie cutter.

Still a Maximised/Empowered would be 6+3=9 SO 20-9=11 wis.

!st lvl spells only and loss of any bonus spells.

Even if the cleric has a 22 wis thats only 3 lvl spells.

THis can also be droped on a Paladin or Ranger to kill any spells they may have.

Or on a Monk to drop all his class abilitys and AC. Not to bad.

Run a Chain spell of the normal 1d6 and still hurt any party.

Ok as a powergamer at heart I am going to LOVE this spells. Especially when my Sor 5/Incantatrix 10/Archmage 5 gets his hands on this spell. Mind you my DC's will be worse by 6 so lets say a 9th level spell will have a DC of 32. (taking into the fact of nerfing the Spell Power abilities and the Spell/Greater Spell Focus nerf as well)

Sweet I DO have 3.5 and I have not run across this spell yet.....Great big huge GRIN!!!!! Man I can not wait to play with the 3.5 rules!!!!

For 9th level clerics WIS 20+ seems quite feasible, tho. That's not even close to what is possible at that level (which would be 26 I think without going for weird races or 28 with Spellcasting Prodigy ;)).

And how exactly did he qualify for Incantatrix? ;)

Oh, and about 3.5 - you surely do know, that Metamagic feats no longer stack with themselves (so no multiple Empower anymore :D)!

And if you are talking about Touch of Idiocy, your save DC means nothing, as it doesn't even have a save! :p

Right I was never one to stack them like that anyway (could never figure them out quite frankly). The following is the link for my character to view on a certain web site from a frd of mine which is a must have for any campaign.

http://thegamehub.com/player/char_vote.asp?id=11

Take a look for yourself.

edit - click on printing options link and then you can take a look at the general character by viewing the different character sheets.

Doesnt a spell saved in a higher level spell slot get that levels save DC?

Only if you use the Hieghten Spell feat otherwise it uses the original spell level DC.
