D&D 5E How to Heal Uber Damage

Stuck with is a bit harsh. I think their healing is so efficient it frees them up a lot to do other things.

I noticed this as a light cleric with the healer feat. You can use your spell slots on other things and just drop the occasional prayer of healing at lower levels.

So basically if the party wants to heal uber damage in combat, someone is stuck being a life cleric.

Not really. It's not a case of "if you're not first then you're last". Life cleric gives the bonus to cure spells but damage mitigation is generally preferable to taking damage. A paladin that prevents damage due to aura of protection is hard to estimate compared to a larger healing bonus over the course of an adventure, for example. Other examples include a nature cleric using dampen elements to prevent damage at the cost of a reaction, a bard casting hypnotic pattern to deny a lot of actions, or a druid casting pass without trace to avoid an encounter in the first place.

Life cleric gives good bonuses, but healing is generally what a group needs when damage mitigation fails because damage mitigation is generally more effective in hit points saved compared to hit points healed.

So, Zardnaar... when are you gonna post some of your builds in CharOp? :-) This is all probably elementary to you but a lot of people unfamiliar to 5e could probably benefit from it...

I am slowly working on a lore bard guide. Also just because I can do builds like this there is a difference in what I will actually play;).

i don't know if this was mentioned yet but if you have find steed and aura of vitality you now generate 2 auras and since your mount is inteligent and you can telepathically communicate with it, you can command both auras easily.

I've noticed that the tempest cleric in my party avoids casting healing spells because they seem so underpowered compared to other spells he can do. Plus clerics get so few spells, it seems a waste to use them and roll low. So now he mostly waits until someone is taken down below 0 before he heals.

Sounds about right. Outside some of the hger level cleric spells and the life cleric casting healing spells is a bit inefficient. Prayer of Healing is OK along with Aura of Vitality but we mostly heal outside combat or use the healer feat.
