And this is a bad thing....how?

I didn't say it was a bad thing, I am just asking why do people value it so high? I've seen it mentioned in many places by different posters how good they thought this feat was (relatively speaking). 9+ instead of 10+ on a save? I'd take low light any day as a human.

It also has a nice side effect with Death Saving Throws as well. 1-8 for worsen, 9-18 for no change, and 19-20 for being able to use a Healing Surge and get back up again. Rather then needing a 20.

A Human wizard with Bloodthread Armor[Cloth](+2 to Saving Throws when Bloodied), Human Perseverance(+1), and Ring of Protection(+1) can roll a 16 or higher on a Death Saving Throw and get back up on his own. And most ongoing effects are gone with a roll of 6 or better when bloodied, or 8 or better for non-bloodied.

Between the saving throws you make, and the additional saving throws your powers or allies may give you, that +1 starts to look better than a +1.

For death saving throws, it increases the odds of survival a modest amount, and it increases the odds of regaining consciousness a respectable amount.

Gaining low light as a feat is very powerful, depending on the type of PCs and campaign. A sneaky dragonborn Rogue or a campaign where the DM commonly use the dim light situation (much dungeon rawling in poorly lit areas, an emphasis on commando strike type of adventures etc.)

If it's not powerful enough for your specific character in his specific campaign, here's what you do ; you don't take the feat.

It's like the Dodge Giant feat. Very powerful for a fighter in a campaign that has reached the point where Large opponents are common. Useless for a wizard or in a LOTR style campaign where you'll face giant trolls only once every two or three levels and most opponents are medium sized.
