Interesting article on Beyond on a FR villian in the new book: How to Make Sammaster the Big Bad of Your D&D Campaign

I am not sure, but I imagine a lot of this additional content, not just a preview?

I see he has 43 hit dice.

I like the power that people cannot gain hit points within 60feet of him.

He has at-will cone of cold and dispel magic which is cool.
I note this preview is of his lich form. I wonder if he will also get a unique dracolich form or if it just says to use the one in the MM.

Are we back to the original Cult of the Dragon, then? Or was that whole business with Tiamat retconned to be a schism?

This was always the case, even within Tyranny of Dragons.

Many setpieces in that adventure include adherents to the Cult’s old way and the characters may ally with them.

They may even recruit a death knight-sort of character to aid them in the final battle in the Well of Dragons.

I mean, it was presented as a schism in Tyranny of Dragons.

Apparently all the 5E Campaigns are being presented and suggested as viable modules to integrate with these books.
I wouldn’t use the work “integrate.”

The old books are listed as resources for people wanting to learn more. But almost all of them are very clearly old news in the new books, with events in those books being directly referenced as having happened in the past for the most part.
