How to Mouse Wheel Click to Open Tab?

Okay, so on my laptop, I can click the mouse [instead of scrolling up or down with it] and it opens a new tab in Firefox when I click on a link.

With my new desktop, it opens a magnifier. Anyone know how to fix it?

I looked in the mouse properties and it's either not there or probably more likely, I'm blind [or computer illiterate] and just didn't find it.

Did you install the software that came with your mouse? I believe that's what allows me the option to assign the buttons for my mouse (Microsoft, "IntelliPoint" software). I don't know if those options are available with the default Windows settings.

You've probably got some special software installed that assigned the wheel button to the magnifier, because by default it shouldn't be assigned to anything. Look in the system tray (lower right, by the clock) for a mouse/pointer/accessibility type program, then just reassign the key.

Yeah, it was assigned that by default. After going back to it and searching much more thoroughly, I finally found it. Option 'Middle button'. That was the correct option I needed.

Thanks.
