How to shoot 8 spells at once using only haste

Bear appears and attacks.
Prismatic Eye shoots a ray.
Can still cast quickened spell
<--End of round-->
Here starts my round again

Cast a spell during your normal action.
Cast a spell during your hasted partial action.
Cast a quickened spell.
+ Eye shoots again.
+ Bear attacks again.

The idea is to use rules clarifications in Tome and Blood Casting time page 80 how you cast Full Round spells while under effect of haste.

A spell with a full-round casing time keeps you busy from the time your turn start until it's your turn again. You cannot take another action other then 5-foot step. If you are hasted, however, you can still take your extra partial action before or after you finish the spell.

It allows you to do 2 Rounds at once.
Fullround spell (here is the delay) +partial<your round starts again>standart action+MEA+Partial action.

IMHO this is MUCH worse then leting Spell caster do it this way:
summon monster (which is not suspending rest of your actions till your new round) + partial action, then all combatants acts acording to their initiative, then your turn comes and you act normaly.

Remember, that you can haste your familiar at the same time as yourself and with imbue familiar with spell ability he can cast two spells per turn, too.

Then add simbul's spell matrix/sequencer, which can be used instead (or even in addition to?) a quickened spell.

You could also add a single contigency/chain contingency to the mix.

And with the chain spell feat, you could get a few more spells off, as well.

To get really excessive you could take the leadership feat, get a wizard cohort and do all the stuff twice. *LOL*

When you are hasted- and your round starts and you have wall of force in front of you to protect you from aoa or unwanted spells.
You start casting summon monster VI
you keep on casting it till begining of your next round.
All other does their initiative as in order.
Your turn starts again
You move 5ft alloved movement while casting full round spell to move next to wall of force that was only before you (improved version of shield :) )
After casting full round action that end just before your next round you can still you partial action from haste (Song and silence)
and
1 bear appears next to you enemy and attack.
2 quickened fireball
3 prismatic eye shoots at your enemy
(now your normal round start no1 can act before you so you keep on casting)
4 in your new round bear attacks again
5 your prismatic eye shoots again
6 you shoot quickened fireball
7 you can shoot maximized fireball
8 you can shoot maximized lighting ball

You are really splitting some hairs here to count this as 8 spells.

I might be wrong, but you cast the full round spell, it ends, then you take your free partial action, then your round ends.

I would think that the bear would not appear until your next initiative as is the nature of the full round spells. However, even if it did show up, the only thing that could happen between it's appearance and your next initiative would be your free partial action. Either way, the bear could not (imho) attack until your next initiative.

1. Bear appears.
2. Quickened anything.
3. When did you cast theis eye spell?
<your round ends>
<your round begins>
4. Bear attacks (how you count this as a spell eludes me)
5. That eye thing again (when did you cast it?)
6. Quickened anything
7. standard spell
8. standard spell.

Ok, I have one better.you get 16 spells off in one round if hasted. for eight rounds, cast summon monster IV, V, and VI, and for your partial, cast some type of spell on them then drop the wall of force and according to your math all eight of those creatures attacking counts as a spell, and since each of them is delivering a spell that counts as eight more spells.

Also, since you were casting a full round spell, it took one full round, counting 1,2 and 3 in one round of action is , well, wrong.

Edit: typo, twice

I think Tome and Blood Rule clarifications says all how i did it :)

Everything is perfectly legal according to rules.
And i didn't say 8 spell effect will appear in 1 round i said at once.
Actually there are only 6 spells, but 2 spells can act TWICE before anyone can dispel or destroy such a continuing spell as summon monster or prismatic eye. That's the whole idea
And your example about casting 16 spells is invalid since only 1 partial action will be deayed each round.

wouldn't you wind up toasting your summoned creatures with all of those area effecting spells? Targeted spells may be more advisable. Would the summoned creatures actually turn on you if you attacked them?

If having a summoned creature attack counts as a spell, just cast summon monster I (etc.) every round for 8 rounds. Assuming you're at least 9th level, you'll get 8 "spells" plus whatever you actually cast.

I like to think that I am big enough to correct my mistakes, and I was wrong, I read your post and assumed you meant in one round.

However, there are still a few questions, first when did you cast that eye spell?

You said 8 spells at once, then proceed to count the bear attacking as a spell, this confuses me. I would count your list as 7 and instead of calling them spells I would say spell effects. The eye thing you count as two spells are really the effects of a spell cast some time other. It would be like counting the continuing damage from Melf Acid Arrow as a spell in the off rounds. So we are down to 5 spells, and an attack by a bear, and two effects from a previously cast spell. But youare right these are all legal -- no complaints from me on that point.

But you say that there is no way for a person to dispell two of these effects. Why not? They could dispell the eye spell, (right?), and they could do that on thier initiative. while you were summoning. They can counter the summon, right?

(I am asking because it seems ike either I misunderstand the rules, or you are doing something I did not know about).

They could disrupt your summon by damage (requiring a concentration check) or by casting some other spell, say grease (or heighted grease) on you.

And, correct me if I am wrong, but I would think that your full round spell (even if hasted) would cause the bear to appear in round 2, not round 1.

Query regarding one point that has been repeatedly raised in this thread...

While dismissing a spell is a standard action, I do not believe that Wall of Force is one of the spells that permit dismissal at will - any such spell has a (D) in its descriptor.

If this has been changed/errata'd, I would love to know. My wizard uses Wall of Force very often, and I have run into problems in the past when I have been unable to dismiss a previously cast Wall of Force.

Thanks,

Joren

I'm pretty sure the only spells that can be dismissed are ones with a (D) or have a duration of 'concentration'. If it has neither of these things, it's not dissmissable... it's a 'permanent' effect until either the duration runs out or someone casts dispel magic on it.

It's a standard action to dismiss a '(D)' spell; it's a free action to dismiss a 'concentration' spell (you just stop concentrating).
