Your character will probably be slowed down by anything heavier than his clothing, reducing your already slow movement of 20 to a mere 15. You will have a penalty to some skill checks.

So keep unseen servants, expeditious retreat and bull's strength at the ready.

My wife's half-elf wizard/rogue had a Str 8, and she was always at the brink of medium encubrance.

I may have to adjust that it seems like it will get in my way... the stat starated at a 7 and will be a 5 with the "pipsqueak adjustment" (i like that) thanks everyone

You'll suck at grapple checks.....wait, as a small wizard you will always suck at grapples. ;)

You'll be encumbered if you carry anything but wands, clothes and your spellbook. But wizards don't erally need to anyways. Make friends with the big meanie in your party.
In my case I always cast displacement on the Low AC goliath/dragon disciple in exchange for him carrying my gnome everywere. It's gotten to the point I cast spiderclimb and reduce person on myself and clamber on to my Goliath/mount. I slap displacement on him, and we walk around in a globe of minor invulnerability as well.:D

You'll probably shell out for a handy haversack pretty early in your career also. Consider a riding dog....

All in all, a small/weak wizard isn't that bad if someone else is willing to do the carrying for you...

week 5 is like too early in the season.

i'd wait until week 14 or so before deciding if you'll make it into the playoffs.

A 5 strength is very low, especially for a Small character. Your Light Encumberance will be 12 lbs. By the book, a scholar's robe, spellbook, components pouch, backpack and a staff will put you into a medium load.

That said, take it anyway. The low strength won't really hinder you and there are plenty of ways to work around the encumberance. Put some skill ranks into Ride and cast Phantom Steed (no more movement penalty). Polymorph into something stronger. You're a wizard, golldurnit. You have set your mind on higher things than how to transport gear.

This is my suggestion as well. You can keep all your stuff in a Bag of Holding tucked into your robes, and the riding dog will take care of your movement woes. Have a scroll of Mount or Phantom Steed for those cases when your mount is killed by a fireball or somesuch, and you should be good to go.
