How would OGL NFTs even work?

WotC has named the prevention of OGL based NFTs as a reason for their changes, but how would that even work? NFTs linked to certain rules? Character stats? Monsters in the SRD? If you can mint NFTs based on OGC, anyone else can as well. People could try to create some Play-to-earn NFT-treadmill, but WotC is going against any kind of video game, not just the NFT ones. The OGL forbids mentioning D&D, so at best you would get NFTs "based on the 5th edition of the World's most popular RPG".
To make them attractive for consumers, they'd need some kind of IP behind them. Like D&D, Critical Role or Power Rangers which the OGL doesn't include.

Like all NFT or blockchain projects:

You make a lot of wild claims, like having a non-detrimental use case or being a game involving owning a link to some really ugly art, collect a lot of money from grind bros... then just walk away with their money.

For maximum authenticity, add a Paul brother or maybe even an actual celebrity.

In what way would that need/use the OGL?

The important thing to remember about NFTs is that they are very, very stupid. Someone could just take a screenshot of the OGL and make an NFT out of that.

Of course the other important thing to remember is that WotC definitely wasn't actually thinking of NFTs when they were writing the new OGL.

I guess I found a way for OGL NFTs to work after all but it's for an older edition:

Mint Non Fungible Token (Item Creation)

You can create blockchain positions.

Prerequisite: Influencer level 1st.

Benefit: You can create an NFT of any IP that you kind of own. Minting a NFT takes 2 hours if its base price is 250 $ or less, otherwise minting a NFT takes 1 day for each 1,000 $ in its base price or forever if you were paid upfront. To mint a NFT, you must waste energy costing half of this base price. No experience is needed.

See magic item creation rules for more information.
