I'm not a subscriber. I'm one of those folk who have the FLGS put aside and hold a copy for me of both magazines.

While I find Dungeon incredibly useful (either in terms of running the adventures 'as is' or for mining for pregenerated NPC and creature stats) and keep my backissues accessible (ie, not in storage), I can't say the same for Dragon.

I have the Dragon Archive CD. When I want to read a Dragon that's within the archive (001-250), I pull the PDF up on screen rather than go hunting for one of my aging paper copies. I'll browse the collection.

When I want to read one of the recent Dragon back issues... I tend not to bother, except when there's a specific article (and that's when I know which issue it's in). I don't browse the paper collection at all.

There's a certain degree of convenience with the electronic back issues of Dragon that I don't have or enjoy with the paper back issues.

Would I buy new issues of Dragon electronically? It depends. I'd have to wait and see how Paizo wanted to handle that (pricing, size of download(s), availability) before I make that call.

Currently, our license with WotC requires that an issue be sold out before we can put the contents of that issue up as a PDF. We do currently issue web supplements for Dungeon that reprints the art and maps (both with and without map tags) for each issue. I've been bouncing the idea of including the stat blocks for that issue in the web enhancement around in my head for a while as well, but I'd rather get to a point where we can get these supplements out on a regular and timely basis before I start adding more stuff to the pile.

C'mon James -- 4-5 hours of overtime each day never hurt anyone. ;)

Seriously, though I understand you guys have a lot on your plate and there are certainly some items that take precedence. Keep up the good work.

Any idea if the license will be changing soon to offering a PDF style format for Dungeon subscribers prior to selling out the issue?

As we hurtle into the unknown future, I forsee print being eclipsed by electronic media... I think it's a fair bet that eventually all magazines (not just Dragon and Dungeon) will be electronic entities. That day's likely many years off in the future, though.

As for changes to the license, I really can't say. I think it's highly unlikely that the license will be changing any time soon.

I voted "I would prefer a print only subscription, but they should offer PDFs to those that want them", however what I really mean is I think it would be great if the did offer PDFs to those that wanted it, but not that they should in an sense that it's a foul if they don't.

This was my intended understanding. :) There's no primadonna entitlement attitude meant here.
