Okay, I just got this email...

You are listed as an active Game Master for Gen Con Indy 2003. As such you will need to pick up your badge at the Event HQ desk onsite.

The hours of operation for the Event HQ desk are Wed from 5 pm to 9 pm, Thurs/Fri/Sat from 8 am to 9 pm and Sun from 8 am to 5 pm.

If you are part of an organized gaming group or are running games for a game manufacturer, your organized play manager may have asked us to compile a packet containing all of the GM badges for that group and the organized play manager is responsible for picking them up and distributing them. You should check with your organizer if you feel you may be on this list.

You should NOT go to the Will Call desk to pick up your badge, even if you chose \

... and that's where it ends.

I assume this was some kind of automatically generated email that was sent out to GM's. There is one problem - I'm not GM-ing @ GenCon. I'm not even going (even though I wanted to) to be there nor did I purchase a badge of any kind for the Con. I did register on the site but that was it.

I assume it was a snafu. Anyone else see this?

I got that e-mail as well, right down to the strange cut-off, and was similarly confused.

Once again, I am stupified by their ineptitude at managing a list. . . . could we please replace the Gencon online staff with chimps?

I got that same E-mail this morning.

It certainly doesn't bother me, but if they're expecting me to run a game, they're going to be dissapointed.

Anyways, sounds like a mistake. I got my badges in the mail, so it's all good.

i thought P-kitty or someone else did that for us

i got the same email. i told Kevin i would run a pickup OD&D game at his session. i also told the CoFers from WotC i would do the same. and i've told EGG et al the same thing. so although originally i didn't sign up to be a referee at the Con i assumed someone else unofficially signed me up. but who knows may be it was a general spam email.

something screwed up, I got the note, and I'm not signed up to GM.

I debated replying with "Hey, I'm not the GM you're looking for!", but I figured it was a goof so I'll just ignore it.

I already got my badge...
