Hurray for Charity Shops - Judge Dredd

S'mon

Legend
Yesterday I picked up a nearly-new copy of Mongoose's Judge Dredd RPG in a charity shop (Relate, I think) - for £1.99. :D

I'd say it was very good value for the price.

They're great, as long as you can resist the urge to purchase that huge pile of supplements for "Hunter: The Reckoning" (made my Will save! Yaay!) :)

Weird thing was, beside Judge Dredd for £1.99 was a pile of A5-size comic books at £3.99 each... charity shop pricing is one of life's eternal mysteries. (Oh, in the 2 adjacent charity shops I bought a video of The Terminator in Scope (£1) and Conan the Barbarian: Widescreen Edition in Oxfam (£1.99) - Morden is cool that way. ;)

That is definitely a bargain for Judge Dredd d20. I believe it is one of the best d20 games ever. It's a shame that production on it has slowed.

The game looks interesting - I like how there's no attempt to balance the Judge classes vs the Citizen classes. Background info is good (good timeline), mechanics and monster stat blocks look good (Kleggs are scary!). Pity there are no stats for even a few famous characters like Dredd, that seems to be a Mongoose policy that you have to buy the supplements. It's a bit odd that nearly all the art is from the very early strips ca 1978, gives a very retro feel.
