Hurricane Isabel and ENWorlders

GB, when I ask that the subject be dropped, I expect that to happen. That doesn't mean "continue to poke at the subject."

Move on, please, and let it go.

Did find out that my all of my in-laws (sister & parents) are fine, althought my sister-in-law's place is just above the flooding in Baltimore, so she was lucky. Still don't know about my friend in VA Beach, though. Talked to some of his family who live around here locally and they haven't heard from him or his sister who lives in Richmond. Still hoping no news is good news. Sorry to hear about all of the other stories of woe, though. My heart goes out to you all.

Cthulhu's Librarian, I'm sorry for your friends and future family. I wish them the best during the rebuilding period.
Thanks PC! We have no idea when we'll be able to go see whats left, probably not for several months, and by that time the cleanup will pretty much be over. All we can do now is wait and see if the all the owners of the property want to rebuild.

Of course, being in France, I was unaffected by Isabel... But I still don't have any news of my aunt who live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I think that's because of the broken power grid... Well, I hope it's nothing worse.

For what it's worth, Gez, aside from some rain and brisk winds, I'm fairly certain that the Charlotte area was not hit hard by the storm. Chances are that your aunt is fine.

Aw boys. I'm sorry for everyone who went without power, who lost their homes, who died. Where I live, I think we haven't had anything worth calling a natural disaster in centuries; luckily the local geology and geography makes big hurricanes, quakes or floodings virtually impossible. This kind of world news always impresses me.

Cthulu's Librarian, Psion, Rel, I'm so glad you're safe.

The property loss can be devastating, especially if one loses their livelihood as well, but the important thing is having your life, and the lives of your loved ones. You can rebuild the rest.

There are other ENWorlders who live in that part of the world, and we haven't heard from all of them yet. I truly hope everyone's ok.
