Cloud Strife (from FF7) - better weapons

The Dread Pirate Roberts - better PR

Conan the Cimmerian vs Aragorn
Conan
Silk (the assasin from the Belgaraid) vs Artemis Entreri
Could go either way, here
Jack ( the guy from Legend) vs Tanis Half Elven
Jack
Guts (from Berserk) vs Link
There is nothing left of Link after the first two seconds of combat.

Jack ( the guy from Legend) vs Tanis Half Elven

1. Conan - Conan gets the job done. Aragorn is slower to act.

2. Tanis - Jack is a whiny little brat who can't fight his way out of a paper bag without help.

Conan the Cimmerian vs Aragorn
Aragorn could take many of the guys in this contest but not the sullen-eyed barbarian from the north. Conan wins with speed, strength and wild cunning.

Drizzt Do'urden vs Matrim Cauthon
Mat's luck is a wildcard in this matchup but the fact remains that he is most deadly with an army at his back while Drizzt (much as I hate the character) is one of the deadliest one-on-one fighters in fantasy fiction. Winner: Drizzt.

Gaborn Val Orden (pre earth king) vs Richard Rahl (Pre SoT)
Don't know either one.

Silk (the assasin from the Belgaraid) vs Artemis Entreri
Didn't read Belgaraid.

Jack ( the guy from Legend) vs Tanis Half Elven
I agree with wolf, Jack couldn't fight his way out of a wet sack. Tanis defeats him handily

Guts (from Berserk) vs Link.
This is as bad a mis-match as Conan vs Aragorn. Link is badass to be sure but guts is the fellow who faced down and slew 100 men at once! If Guts could beat Griffith in a duel he can beat Link. Winner: Guts.

Cloud Strife (from FF7) vs Kull of Atlantis
Huh, Cloud presents a bit of a problem; we are told that he is badass (by virtue of being the hero) but we really do not have any clear idea of his skills. That is all the other characters here we either read about their fights in detail or saw them in action on the screen. With Cloud we watch him take a swipe at an enemy who does not attempt to dodge and then a number representing damage appears ...

Heck with it, I vote for Kull.

Mog (from FF6) vs The Dread Pirate Roberts
Again, the same problem as with Cloud but this time with an easier solutioun. If Wesley can't outfight Mog he'll still manage to outsmart him. Winner: the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Aragorn wins over Conan (Aragorn shoots him)

Drizzt Do'urden vs Matrim Cauthon (unknown, what book is Matrim in?)

Gaborn Val Orden (pre earth king) vs Richard Rahl (Pre SoT) (Unknown, which books are these two in?)

Silk (the assasin from the Belgaraid) vs Artemis Entreri (Unknown, which book is Silk in?)

Jack ( the guy from Legend) vs Tanis Half Elven (Unknown, which book is Jack in?)

Guts (from Berserk) vs Link (Unknown, which book is Guts in?)

Cloud Strife (from FF7) vs Kull of Atlantis (Unknown, which books are these two in?)

Mog (from FF6) vs The Dread Pirate Roberts

Conan the Cimmerian vs Aragorn

Aragorn. Just because.

Drizzt Do'urden vs Matrim Cauthon

Mat. Immune to magic, can't beat luck, isn't a Drow Ranger. Also has defeated blademasters in sword vs. staff duels before; don't down-rate his combat skills. And may just shoot Drizzt before the fight starts.

Mog (from FF6) vs The Dread Pirate Roberts

Wesley. Mog's too variable because of the way the game works; when I play FF6, he's a nasty spell-chucker that our farmboy wouldn't have a chance against, but I'll take straightforward swordplay over magical dancing.

Conan the Cimmerian vs Aragorn

Conan. He wants it more.

Drizzt Do'urden vs Matrim Cauthon

I agree with an earlier poster, Drizzt is absurd in one-on-one melee.

Gaborn Val Orden (pre earth king) vs Richard Rahl (Pre SoT)

Dunno, never heard of these guys.

Silk (the assasin from the Belgaraid) vs Artemis Entreri

Entreri owns all! Especially if he's still got that life-draining dagger and the crystal shard. I just don't see Silk sneaking up on this guy, considering that he's bad-ace enough to walk into Calimshan and start randomly killing people without fear that the reogue-iest city in the Realms will do him in.

Jack (the guy from Legend) vs Tanis Half-Elven

Tanis. He's surprisingly non-wimpy, though the other members of the Company of the Lance tend to lay more hurt down.

Guts (from Berserk) vs Link

Guts, if we're talking average Link. If Link gets tons of heart containers and his choice of items from all the games, he might, might be able to win, though. In which case I would vote for him because I think he's cooler.

Cloud Strife (from FF7) vs Kull of Atlantis

Dunno. Don't know enough about either to call it.

Mog (from FF6) vs The Dread Pirate Roberts

Wesley is one of the best rapier-and-wit fighters around, IMHO, and defeats Mog by a narrow margin (but without losing his cool). "You wish to surrender? Very well, I accept."
