Hybrid Character Concepts

Any ideas for a melee-oriented warlord hybrid? I'm playing a revenant (well, an undead who uses the revenant/human template) warlord in a game and I really wanted to be something other than a Leader role. The revenant hides his skeletal body in armor and I wanted to take a lot of the revenant feats to enhance his (un)natural powers. I can't think of any class off the top of my head that works really well with the Warlord.

I also really like the idea of the Barbarian Sorceror. Don't forget that there's also a Paragon Path that is like the 3e Rage Mage. Seems fun.

Which one is that?

I need to spend more time with the Hybrid rules to get a feel for what you can do with them.

Just toying with character builder some, I find some of the best combos are the ones that use the same role. So hybrid strikers, controllers, defenders, and leaders work out nicely. A ranger/rogue, for example, makes a good scout.

Last night I was planning out a Paladin/Sorcerer hybrid, using the feat that allows another class' arcane implement (heavy blades) and the paladin hybrid armor talent.

Basically, it's heavy armoured radiant/fire melee damage dealer (weapon powers and close burst powers) with a few other options from the sorcerer thrown in, such as thunder powers which allow him to knock down opponents or make wuxia style movements around the board.

Implement expertise (khopesh) and weapon focus (heavy blades) adds a damage boost for power from both classes.

Not doable until the PHB3 is released, but I am considering a Seeker/Druid, focusing on the seeker powers for range and druid beast powers for melee.

Fun ideas! No matter the edition, I have almost never played a straight-up single class character. So with 4e, I naturally gravitate to the hybrid rules, and I really like many of these ideas.

My personal favorite so far:
The Gambler (Rogue/Wild Sorcerer) - This wild character jumps around the battlefield blasting and striking nearly everything around him - which unfortunately sometimes includes allies when he gets out of control. Wielding a Gambler's Dagger, often even he doesn't know what he will be capable of next, which is exactly how he likes it.

(On some days when I'm really in an X-Menish kind of mood, I will admit to making the "dagger" be a deck of magical cards. However, I've always been more interested in creating a decent D&D version of the sword-wielding, teleporting Nightcrawler. THAT would be fun!)

Nightcrawler would be a Fey Warlock|Rogue with Arcane Implement Proficiency (light blades) and Weapon Proficiency (rapier). Race-wise, even though Drow would line up perfectly, eladrin has the teleport thing going. Take all eladrin feats that lets you use fey step to escape grapples, negate forced movement and take an ally with you.

Again, no Hybrid class for it yet, but Warlock/Assassin might be a better fit for his teleporting abilities.

Heh heh. I knew I just needed to drop an offhand reference and the fine folks here at EN World would help out. :) I'm not deeply familiar with the powers of all the classes, so I was considering assassin but hadn't looked at the fey warlock too much yet. I'll have to check that out. Thanks, guys!

Unfortunately there's also been some other interesting ideas in this thread. Too many concepts, not enough campaigns!
