yeah but the idea was that it was available to anyone who was a clan champion or some such thing (absolutely a rough draft, I've done very little to flesh the ideas out).

so maybe a 5 lvl prestige class then ...

hmm Classicbattletech.com had some info on the critters ...

I'm gonna turn the stell viper into an axiomatic dire snake (MotW), and the star adder into a fiendish large constrictor (I think it's huge right now)

Well I don't know much about battletech, but I have played the strategic game a little, and the animated show based on the game/books rocks like few other animated SF showes have done before or since (with the sole exception of robotech, which incidently is the best animated sf series ever! ).

Yes, I'm a geek, I know...But I'm an evil geek!

I loved Robotech. It used to be on at 0600 and I'd get up an extra 1/2 hour just to be able to watch it.

I thought the last series, The Sentinels, looked really promising ... to bad it never got started/finished (beyond the few episodes they had).

I did manage to read all of the books though, my HS library had a decent sci-fi section ... Margaret Weis even showed up to our library too! (woo hoo Pine Bush NY )

The reason that Sentinels (fourth robotech series btw.) was never finished was that they ran out of production money. To bad though. I've read a synopsis of that series, and it would have rocked. Finishing with a massive battle between the Invid queen and an ancient entity on who gets to become a god. It ends with the queen seeding victory to the entity, when she realises that all life will be extinguished if they continue to battle. Other coll points include the destruction of the old universe (don't worry, everybody important survives it.) and a creation of a new. Also all the surving characters from the three first series would have been brought back for the series.

As far as I know most of the Macross movies take place after the fourth series...
