A hydra has fast healing 10+its original number of heads. If you attempt to sunder a hydra's head and do not deal enough damage to sunder it, does the damaged-but-still-attached head benefit from the fast healing on the hydra's next turn? Or does the fast healing only apply to damage taken to the monster's body?

Additionally, each head has hit points equal to the hydra's original full hit points divided by its number of heads. If you sunder a head (and seal the stump with fire or acid of course), does the hydra lose a head's worth of hit points? In other words, are the heads tracked separately or are they tied to the overall health of the monster?

From the SRD:.... Losing a head deals damage to the body equal to half the head’s full normal hit points. A natural reflex seals the neck shut to prevent further blood loss. A hydra can no longer attack with a severed head but takes no other penalties.

Fast Healing (Ex)
Each round, a hydra heals damage equal to 10 + the number of its original heads.

I think you can give 1hp to each head and 10 to the body, as you want.

I seem to recall an 'official' clarification at some point saying that any attacks to a head that do not deal enough damage to sever it have no effect. However, that may only have been the 3E interpretation when you could only kill some by severing heads.
