I "acquired" some old stuff...

First Post
So I was talking w/ a co-worker last week, and I mention that my crew has started dabbling around w/ a D&D campaign. Some of us have had some past experience, but for the vast majority of my group, we're all newbies to PnP gaming. Anyway, he tells me he has some stuff in his attic that he hasn't used in forever, and if I'm interested, he'd give it to me. Sure thing, sounds cool.

So he dropped it off yesterday.

Two HUGE boxes, full of magazines, books, and modules, all the way back to the first printing of much of it. Pics of the books and adventures are at http://anakinou.com/gallery/D-D.

What's not in the pics? 2 old Dungeon magazines, and over 100 Dragon magazines, from issues #50 through #175.

Merry Christmas to me. :)

I love it when that happens. I once got over one-hundred-seventy-five issues of Dragon from a friend in a similar circumstance.

The closest I ever got to a situation like that was when I checked out a game store for the first time in a city about an hour's drive away, and found every single back issue (about 30 in all) of Dungeon I was missing (the previous owner had just sold his entire collection to the store the day before). I spent about $100.00 for them right then and there; my loving and understanding wife decided that they would be Christmas presents for me that year (and she even took pity on me and let me keep a half dozen or so out of the "Christmas pile" so I'd have something to keep me busy until then).

Dang -- that is a nice haul.

Two copies of the original Fiend Folio. I sold mine a decade or so ago for several times what I originally paid for it, and that was before eBay.

My gaming collection has also enlarged, twice, thanks to getting stuff from others. However, in my case, the friends had to pass away. Too heavy a price in my book. :(

And I thought I was lucky with getting the Orpheus game line for €10 per book... That's some very, very nice loot you got. Congratulations, and welcome to the fold.
