I am actually using Orc and Pie (serious)

As sick as it seems I am actually goint to us Orc and Pie in my next campaign. No joke here

Here is how it works

The PC's will be out visting an old witch of they know. When they go into her house there will be an Orc and a Pie.

Here's the clincher, There are no Orcs on my game world. The players will be left with a tidy mystery to figure out.

Oh as too the old witch, she is fine. She had gone out herb gathering and forgot about the now cooling pie.

Now How did the orc get here. Well. It involves the misuse of an artifact called a Vorcil Blade which is basically like The Subtle Knife from the book of the same name.

The weapons current owner, Emeril an unhanged rogue on the run has been expeiementing with it and causing a world of trouble.

His most recent experiment took place near an inerrt gate. When the knife was used it opened a temporary hole to another world bringing in the Orc.

Now unlike The Subtle Knife upon which its based The Vorcil Blade doesn't summon specters or anything of the sort

In game terms it is
A masterwork weapon (a dagger)
All attacks are melee touch
All attacks are threats
With a use magic device roll the Blade may be charged with a magic 1d10-1 level of arcane spells. This is a full round action. Arcane failure is as per a scroll based on character level.
Opens holes to the void 1 in 20 chance voidlings come out
Used near one of the fixed gates (its a campaign thing), opens to the gates realm
If a player steps into the void, they die.

There is the bones of it. See orc and pie can be usefull.

Oh and one more thing, if the orc is defeated the old witch will share the pie with them of course :)
