I blinked and the thread I was reading got bumped out of page 1 (or 2 or 3 or...)

Is anyone else annoyed with the ironic fact that because of the success of this forum, no thread hangs around for more than a few hours on page 1?

Agreed, i once posted a thread. And ten minutes later it was on page two already.

It seems that the important threads usually hang around on the first page longer. And if you have a question you REALLY need answered, just bump it back to the first page. Just make sure it's in the right forum.

Actually, this is annoying. I was a fan of the old boards because they had more threads per page.

And this one is now gone, too! Wait - that's because it got moved to the Meta forum.

I also miss having 40 threads per page instead of 25. When the new server is in place in the next few months, we'll likely be going back to the old setup. I'm looking forward to it.

EDIT - there's currently a 1 hour 17 minute difference between threads on the top and bottom of page 1, and an 8 hour difference between threads on the top and bottom of page 2.

I don't see the problem. You can subscribe to any threads that interest you.

There are also other views besides the default "most recently posted" one....

ACtually, i think that we should use the Message Board Round up news feature more often and post links to 2nd page posts from the previous day.
