I had this dream....

I had weird dream last night. As dreams go, I'd forgotten most of it by time I was awake.

I was me, and living week of my life in world that was basicly our world, but where D&D things were real and still a problem to regular people.

In dream I was trying to survive sleep depration causing Love & Anarchy movie festival (real thing, been there many years), while having to do my boring office job from 8am-4pm.

And that week was filled with those monsters and troubles and sad decisions whatever to leave friend behind to escape with our lives. Yeh we still were complitely ordenary people even in that world.

I was feeling really stressed when awakened.

So that made me think, how things would really be like in modern world with d&d things added in. Forget all history backtracking, just how would things be if it really was this world, yet not.

How would such a world look like? How would daily living for regular people be like?

I don't think d&d modern quite did this trope.

Well some countries sure, not where I live. We have civilization goblin problems aren't here anymore. Maybe at times in rural areas, but they are almost extinct. Outsiders, and evil wizards conjuring them are more of a problem. Nobody believe if you say dragon ate your car this is why you are late at work. Not that it could happen, it's just so very rare. Bit like your car was crashed by piece from falling plane.

Weather is sometimes more quirky and magic sure causes as many problems it fixes maybe more.

I think status in my original source for this question was rather vague. It felt sort of off-week though, one of those weeks where everything that can go wrong goes, and you still have to make to your dayjob.

I do know that copiers and printers would have a CE alignment, just like their do in our world. So I guess that really is not a change.

Lol. At least one in my current work has. Misses some random pages, dont' copy them. And get's paper stuck in everywhere when it get's stuck, which is often. Repairman said problem was partiallly paper type "Future" which uses bit more stone in mix. Yeh and they use tone because it's cheaper than wood.
