I hate WoTC

No, this isn't a troll.

Its a rant.

There's a difference.

I hate Neopets with a passion reserved by TV evangelists for Satan. Of course, that might also be because of association with my ex-gf.

ROTLMAO!!!

This is a very funny thread.

I honestly don't know anything about this NeoPets IP. All I know is that Wizards have lucked out when a company known for producing sports cards like a Michael Jackson rookie edition acquired the right to publish Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, arguably the most popular trend in the US today, and I daresay even more popular than Pokemon, which is already fading into obscurity.

While Wizards' Magic: The Gathering continues to bring good sales revenue, they better do something about launching the next hottest card game product.

OBTW, I'm not a fan of TCG, and I still blame Wizards who created this new game trend for the near-demise of RPG. Despite my feelings, I will only buy Wizards' RPG products and stay the hell away from their card games.

The only cards I play is the ones from Bicycle.

Yeah Wizards is evil, but the Neopets isn't the worst thing that Wizards has done. A game called Magic:the Gathering, the mother of all CCGs, is the dark beast of Wizards. I'm surprised that the game has survived ten years. It must be Wizards' dark rituals that have extended its unnaturally long life. Let's face it, Magic (or any other CCG) is inherently unbalanced. Any game is balanced by an economic factor (eg, how many cards you can buy) rather than strategy alone is unbalanced. Moreover Wizards has been phasing out type I tournaments (which you can use cards from any set) to tournaments that require you to have cards from the last three sets. Make no mistake, CCGs are the bane of gaming. More and more kids are becoming addicted to these dangerous card games. For the sake of the children (as well as the RPG hobby these games must be stopped!;)

A lot of critics were surprised D&D lasted this long. :p

While the mainstream acknowledge D&D, most don't play it. But TCG appeal to the mainstream. A sad, sad fact. :(
