I have heard something nearly as bad and related in a perverse way. The Doctor Demento radio show (where I first heard the ballad of Bilbo Baggens, so I was hardened against the horror) once had an episode where they had a guy on who had written a book about the lyrics for TV show themes. It turns out that the original StarTrek theme has lyrics and Dr. Demento and the author began singing them. The lyrics were awful and their singing even worse.
