I just ran a half marathon!

Congratulations.

I used to work with a girl who trained for and ran her first marathon. She kept all of us in her department updated on all her training, and from what I learned through her, it's a real accomplishment. And there are some things, (like toe nail and nipple issues), that probably shouldn't be shared.

Congrats! (Hopefully you weren't in the one behind my house that woke me up at 530 this morning.) I know it's a real accomplishment just to finish. Not everyone does.

NipGuards: little glue-on plastic thingies to prevent chafing. Handy, because cold and nipples and friction are not friends.

I'm a little irked that I live on the 2nd floor. Uff da.

I walk to work a lot, in little 2 mile trips, but I only started training this summer, because a friend had a New Year's Resolution to run a half marathon, and I wanted to help her train. Victory.

It's amazing how quickly fitness levels improve if you take your training seriously. Last year my wife signed up for a charity run. She needed to get into shape for it, and to keep her motivated I joined in. When we started we could barely run for 3 minutes, but after a month's training we could easily go for half an hour.

Sadly, we both lost our drive shortly after and didn't keep it up.

Ran my half-marathon yesterday. Great weather with temps in the 50's and overcast. Ended up with a time of 2h5m. Pretty happy with that, especially since I am fighting off the youngest IronPup's cold.
