I like D&D

I'm ready to start playing again, too. We've had a month hiatus, we had just finished an adventure for which I was DM, now I want my turn as a PC for a new adventure.

Just thought you ought to know. Tonight is most likely the culminating session of a campaign that's gone on since the beginning of 3E, with a bunch of 20th level characters in a showdown against the penultimate menace of the ShadowTaker, where virtuous heroes will lock in combat with the assembled forces of the abyss, the realm of shadows and the "spider" at the center of the web.

Friends will gather at the table, and much fun will be had. Spells will be cast, swords will be swung, and much snacks will consumed to the sound of rolling dice.

With all the unhappy posts lately, I just thought I'd mention that I really love this game, ya' know?

Sounds like the timing for a switchover to a new compaign worked out rather well for you and your group. Maybe while you go Epic one of your players will try their hand at DMing using the new revisions... :)

And that's exacly what is happening Every once in a while Wizardru and I switch places and the Meepites pull out thier Avonshar characters and I DM. We will be in that mode for about a month.

For some good homebrewed evil in your face D&D read the Avonshar thread in the Story Hour section.

That's very cool! You should do a side by side comparison of the original system and the revision in a couple of months and revisit it every few weeks for an update. Sort of a Meta-game Storyhour... :)
