I love Firefox!

Firefox, eh?

Just started using it last week and it is great!

The extensions (MP3 player, weather report, etc) that you can integrate don't interfere with other programs or the browser and the pop-up blocker is superior. Google/amazon/ebay/amazon/dictionary toolbar is built right in as well. I've used IE for years and really liked it but Firefox is just blowing me away.

Any thoughts?

Anything from the tech folks that I should know?

Yes, it's very nice. I don't use any of the extensions, I just like it better plain.

Also, my computer crashes less. A lot less. (IE would often crash, which would then result in windows being unstable.)

And you don't have to worry about pop-ups or spyware, as far as I can tell.

I used to use Opera since version 4.x. But a few days ago I switched to from Opera to Firefox. I must say: it works quite well. I've adblock plugin installed and a tabbed browsing plugin. I'm also looking at K-meleon, the lightwight brother of Firefox. It does however not support URL completion in the ULR bar, and that annoys me. So now I use Firefox.

Yes! This has been my experience as well. IE used to crash at least once per session over 2 hours. Ugh.

Firefox is great, but I still prefer Opera (don't really think it's "better", they are probably about the same). :)

The only thing I still use IE for is microsoft updates & downloads, since it's a pain in the ass to download them in another browser. Everything else I do is in Firefox. It's faster, especially at home where I'm on dialup. I'm slowly managing to convince the staff that I support at work to move over to Firefox as well. Now I just need to work on getting the library administration to allow me to put it on all the public computers.

I love it. The only time I use IE now is to change settings on my blog; Firefox will let me add an entry, but it won't let me add new pics, etc.

Oh, and the middle button/scroll opening up a new tab? Great.

I've tried it, but prefer Avant. IMO, it's a toss-up between Firefox and IE. Of course, the latest version of Firefox I've tried was v0.9, maybe 1.0 is a bit better.

I've looked at Avant, but I really don't see what the selling point is. I luv my Firefox, but it would be nice if I could make it my default browser. Damned MSN dialup...

v1.0 is better than v0.9 was. Give it a try.

What's the deal with Avant? I've heard just a little about it, and nothing that I heard made me want to try it.
