I need a dungeon

Baron Opal

First Post
I am trying to put together a dungeon for my son and some friends. Unfortunately, I am really tapped out mentally from my job getting so hectic lately that my creativity is drained. I dug out my Holmes version of D&D that my dad bought me long, long ago and I saw the Great Stone Skull dungeon cut away view. I thought this would be great! But I'm getting really stuck for the individual levels. I know roughly what I want there, but the layer maps just aren't coming. Are there any deceint resources anyone can recommend for basic dungeon maps?

When I'm feeling tapped out like that, I let my accessories do the heavy lifting.

Step 1: Rifle through my minis and grab some that catch my eye. DDM figures are handy because they come with stat cards.

Step 2: Grab a bunch of Dungeon Tiles that look like fun and could reasonably fit together. I absolutely don't try to make some map before I'm at the table. Instead, I put the ones I picked into a plastic bag, and I also usually put doors in a second bag.

Step 3: Start to play. Give the players some simple explanation why they're at the entrance to this dungeon. Then reach into the bag of tiles and take out one or two room tiles. Slap a two or three doors on the first room and you're good to go.

Step 4: Add monsters to taste.

Lather, rinse, repeat steps 3 & 4 as necessary.
