I need a specific metal

We aren't sure yet how it is all going to work. You have any ideas? I will pass them on to my friend and run them by him. He is putting all the information together into a cohesive form, that way people can read it without going dumb.

For that matter, anyone else have any ideas on a specific metal other then the ones mentioned above? Also, any ideas for creatures and plants to put into the making of this Island?

Hmm... I will look this one up real fast. It would be a good base if it is also a light metal.

A realistic* possiblity would be iron or copper or some similar raw ore, that, in the molten mantle of the planet, was somehow exposed to some compressed gasses that are lighter than air, (methane, for example) that cause it to bubble up, trapping the lighter than air gasses in a very thin foam of metal, like an aerogel**. It's regular metal, but is actually an incredible amount of tiny balloons, each lighter than air.

*In that it only requires a complete misunderstanding of science, instead of actual magic.

How do the creatures get recaptured and put away when their cycle is up?

We aren't sure yet how it is all going to work. You have any ideas?

How about you have a small slave race that oversees the flow of everything. They breed the various creatures within secured, underground bunkers. Every single creature they breed has a suggestion or similar spell casted on them that triggers when the cycle is up, and automatically convinces the creature to return back to their bunker at the appropriate time. The slave creatures retrieve all the plants, and capture the few creatures that resist the magical influence.
