I need rules proofers for an E.N. Pub book.

Would anyone here like to get a free pdf copy of an E.N. Publishing book and credit as rules editor? We're putting out a book with, I believe, 20 pre-created PCs, including stats at 3 different levels, for the purposes of one-shot games and Game Days. The characters also include stats for familiars, mounts, and animal companions. I need one or two people with a verifiable track record for precise understanding of the rules and a keen eye for even the slightest rules gaffs. Only the core rules are used.

If you're interested, post here and see if you can get somebody to give you a reference. This Friday I'll pick one or two people and send them copies of the text to check. I know people always say they wish companies would do this so they didn't have silly errors . . . well, I at least think it's a good idea.

I'll check in.

I feel confident about this. I'm always nitpicking on rules and stats in products that I like, so this seems perfect. I've worked on a few products in editing errors (though never professionally), so I do have some experience in editing. I'll try and get some of the people I worked with to post here.

I suppose it'll be based on SRD stuff, without exotic rules from sourcebooks I don't have, so I'm game. :)

I've worked with Alzrius on several of the freebie supplements and he's done an excellent job of catching my own discrepancies. I highly recommend him.

My wife's an editor...I'm all for anything that furthers the cause of editordom! Go Alzrius!

I'll give it a shot. I like more low magic, high horror games but the SRD supports them fine. Lol i have posted on a few of your threads wicket, so you can look back and see how i think. Anyway i would be happy to help if my viewpoint is what your looking for. Later.

I too feel my experience would be beneficial.

Currently I am the editor-in-chief of the Birthright d20 project at Birthright.net. Most anyone who has ever spent some time at that site knows who I am. Some love me, some hate me, but most at least respect me.

I am also a contributor to Last Resort (check out the upcoming LR 4 so see some of my stuff) - the Alternity e-mag.

I am no Hyp however (insert modesty and shameless patronizing of the Hyp-master). But if you are looking for someone who can ensure the product is consistent in it's approach then that is one of my strengths.

Oh yeah I was an auditor for several years and an engineer by degree who works for the US government so you know I can be nitpicky and deal with bureaucracy. ;)

Hi RW,

Well I'm a technical writer (10+ years) and professional proof-reader in "real life", plus I know the core SRD rules very well. I don't know splat books, but that's ok -- you only care about core.

Contact me via my profile if interested.
