But honestly, anything is available if you work at it (you can convert a 3rd Edition weretiger if needed) and if the GM allows.

This is not purely a weretiger race, but I think it would be cool if rakshasa were a PC race in the MM (I actually wouldn't mind if the rakshasa and weretiger were blended into one thing).

Except rakshasa have the whole weird backward hand thing going on. Never been a fan of that.

There will be rules for playing as a dozen or so monster races, such as drow and warforged, in the MM. Nobody who hasn't seen the full rules knows if that includes weretigers or not. I would guess not.
