I, Robot

The I, Robot book was a collecton of the early Asimov Robot short stories. These of course eventually led to the Caves of Steel and the other detective stories, but I, Robot wasn't about that.

The movie seems to be more about the short stories than the Caves of Steel, but then I don't know much about it. I, Robot stories had investigations by a Robot Psychologist in many of them.

I'll see it, because I'm an old Asimov fan, but I am still much, much more interested in seeing a LotR-like treatment of the Foundation Trilogy, please. :)

They really ought to remake Nightfall (movie link), which never was done right the first time...or any time... (and I mean do the short story, not the Silverberg-expanded novel). And if it isn't really long enough for a full movie, team it up (ALA Trilogy of Terror or Twilight Zone: The Movie), with a couple of other odd Asimov short stories like The Billiard Ball and "Author! Author!"

BTW, Here's some good Asimov reading -

Good Luck with that, Mark. :p

Honestly, couldn't you just drink some warm milk, instead? Same effect, millions of dollars less.

As for the new trailer, I'm not sure what to think, yet. It could be a cool action flick with some deep philosophical issues. Or it could just degenerate into a silly pseudo-mystery that falls apart into a special-effects mess. Hard to tell, yet.

Actually, the nature of Foundation would probably make a really good TV series.

LOL Well, maybe I can just dream about it on three nights, spaced a couple of years apart. :D

Seriously, though, isn't jonrog working on the development of the script for a foundation project of some kind?

I Robot starring Will Smith....??

Men in Black meet the Three Laws of Robots.

As mentioned above, I Robot was a collection of short stories. I imagine a feature film would only be very loosely based around perhaps one fo the stories.
