I so... SO ... want to turn this into an adventure.

HunterXHunter, part 1 inspired me to write a level 1 - 10 module for 4th ed. Now it is in beta play-testing.

And The Maxx has inspired one of my greatest villians ever, one who really thinks he is saving the world...

Also, Fflewddur Fflam from the Prydain Chronicles has been the basis of pretty much every bard I ever played.

And, of course, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen has been a constant inspiration, but I could never make a character so suave...

One of my best campaigns was a Supers campaign set in the world of Space:1889, with inspiration from all over Verne, Wells, LXG, Wild, Wild West, The Difference Engine, Alien Nation, Turtledove's Worldwar novels and other sources. My players added ingredients from classic horror (Werewolves), anime (Nadia), Victorian stereotypes (club-wielding, leopard skin wearing, bald-headed, handlebar moustache having circus strongmen), and even the ground-breaking symphonies of the era.

And the adventures were largely a combination of repackaged James Bond movies and chapters from Michael Moorcock's Oswald Bastable novels, with just a smattering of legends from all over the world (like Archimedes' Death Ray).

Good times, good times.
