D&D (2024) I think depending on survey results Aasimar, Genasi, and Changelins could be added to One D&D.

I do not understand this, and am wondering if you can explain, please.

Goliaths (in the playtest) can
a. Grow to L for 10 mins at level 5
b. get a gimmick tied to the giant ancestry (teleport, fire damage, cold damage, knock prone, thunder damage, reduce damage done to you)

Genasi (in MotM) get none of these, but instead get one of four elemental packages:
  • AIR -- cast levitate
  • EARTH -- cast Pass without Trace and avoid difficult terrain
  • FIRE -- darkvision, fire resistance, produce flame cantrip, cast Burning Hands
  • WATER -- swim speed, acid resistance, Shape Water cantrip, cast Create/Destroy Water.

Literally none of the giant gimmicks overlap with the Genasi abilities.

They'd probably put a new twist on the 4 main Genasi types, maybe using the same structure as the One D&D Tiefling.

Yes. I expect it will be something like this:

Type: Humanoid
Size: Medium
Speed: 30

Elemental Legacy:
Choose a legacy; you can cast a spell for free once per long rest, or with any available spell slots. INT, CHA, or WIS can be the casting stat.

We shouldn't forget the other genasies, the paragenasies, the abyssal genasies, and the Athasian genasies.

I wonder if the genasies could be descendants of some genies.
