'lo again. It's Xain, the level 12 gnomish Bard! You may remember me from such threads as "Must...get...perform...up!". Well, I have another bard oriented question for you all! Prestige classes. I'm trying to find a good one, but I just can't seem to find one I like. Any suggestions? And if you give one, please tell me a little bit about the class. Greatly appreciated.

Given the title of your thread, you might want to check out War Chanter from Complete Warrior. Adds to bard level for number of bardic music uses per day, gives fighter BAB, and adds new, more martially oriented songs. It doesn't advance bard spellcasting at all though. Still, it's not a bad way to make your Bard more martial.

Once had a player in a Mage (WoD) game try to kill some attacking zombies by singing a pitch which would cause their heads to resonate and explode. She rolled 0,0,0,0,0 on five dice. Fate was on her side that day.

I'd take a look at the CA musical instruments. Some of them have damaging/dazing effects that could help.

Seeker of the Song from CA is a pretty good PrC IMO -- I had planned to take my rogue/bard into that, but ultimately decided that it didn't fit the char concept.

I was sorely disappointed with CV for not having a more roguish bard, perhaps something that traded spells for sneak attack, or some limited progression in each. Ultimately I wrote my own PrC, though I haven't gotten far enough into it to be sure if I'm satisfied with the result. If you can't find anything that suits your concept, perhaps you could discuss with your DM the possibility of working together to devise a unique PrC?

Since Bards are also storytellers, perhaps your gnome should find something akin to the Joke that killed anyone that heard it that Monty python wrote. :D :D

Have you looked at Unorthodox Bards from The Le Games? That might have exactly what you are looking for. :)
