Here's my elevator Speech for such a game.

DALEFIRE ASCENDANT

A Forgotten Realms Campaign Elevator Pitch**

When shadows stir in the Dalelands, old villains don’t stay buried — they rise.

Rumours whisper that Fzoul Chembryl, long thought gone, is clawing his way back to power. His resurrection doesn’t just threaten the Dales; it would reignite the tyranny of the Black Network, destabilize Cormyr, corrupt Sembia’s merchant princes, and send tremors of dread across the Moonsea. Even the sands of Anauroch shiver with prophetic nightmares.

Heroes must unite farmers, druids, war-mages, rangers, and exiles — even unlikely allies like the Saurials of the Lost Vale and the Stonelander minotaurs, sunrise-sworn warriors of Lathander — before Fzoul’s new creed of domination spreads like rot through the heart of Faerûn.

This isn’t just a fight for peace.
It’s a struggle for who gets to shape the future of the Realms.

Will the Dales blaze with hope… or be consumed by a god-touched tyrant’s return?

I think I may write it up as a game.

There's really nothing stopping you from creating a custom adventure/campaign for BG3!

The lack of lip sync tools and ability to create dialogue sequences? the buggy toolset missing pieces of middleware? Modders have unlocked some capabilities but it still isn't smooth sailing to create new assets to work with.

maybe a few years from now workarounds will be created and things will be better documented... but as of right now there most certainly is plenty stopping you from creating a custom campaign in BG3

How does one do that? (You don't need to get into all the details, a broad summary of steps would satisfy me).
Will => Magic => Result! ;)

Things are not easy on the BG3 front, but the topic starter wanted a BG3 like experience in the Dalelands, so why not try it when someone is serious. People are working on campaigns and it looks like some already have mods (working?) for 5e spelljammer, with new maps.

But probably a better way to do this is use Solasta: Crown of the Magister, which has more proper build tools in the style of NWN1/NWN2.... And it uses the 5e SRD as it's game system!
