I wish...

I wonder if the players giving you the hard time would have done so if it had been their character caught by the Mind Flayers. Methinks not based on the Wizard's response. 'Nuff said.

Another vote that you made good use of the scroll. It did exactly what you needed it to do at the time, and who can complain about that?

Well done, Aquila!! You acted wisely in helping to save the character of one of your fellow players. Your DM should reward you for your actions. The character's actions should also be praised in game. (Time to call up a bard.)

I am somewhat tired of seeing players too reluctant to use resources to help their own allies. I believe that the only way a party can suceed is to work together. Sadly, I have seen a few players treat using up a scroll in the way that most people respond to having a tooth pulled by a dentist.

I have played characters who have burned experience points to make magic items for allies, or to cast a useful wish. I have found that by helping my allies, I usually help myself in the long run. (Aquila, the other player may wish to share spells with your character.)
