(IC) Dog Days of Doom!

Deirdre took a deep breath once the tiefling and dwarf left. She then raised her eyes to the stars overhead, seeming to drink them in, and muttered a prayer of thanks in elvish.

Thank you, father, for guiding my sword. At least this place is saved.

She then pulled herself out of her reverie and looked at the others.

"The Marshal is right. Let us move now to inform the Priest all what has transpired. He may know more about the tome and what the tiefling was after. We can then discuss our next coarse of action at the Inn"

Then, to Caer in elvish,

I share your concern for the Deepening Wood and my home as well. I will commune with Corellon, asking for his guidance. It may be the best way to protect them is to further pursue this evil elsewhere.

OOC: Next long rest Deirdre will memorize Augury and Sending. Augury to receive input on whatever we decide our next steps are, Sending so we can communicate with someone one of us knows for intel gathering (say in the Deepening Wood or the Docks).

Anson had established telepathic communication with Newt, and he checks with her to see if she is well. He is tired, and does not like being accused of murder by graverobbers, and he has no doubt that he will cross paths with Callyassa again.

For now, however, the beacon is lit. His hands hurt -- the change that has happened to the fire in his hands is painful, even if (as he has proved) it can be deadly. He walks back with the others, finding Newt and returning her to the Inn where he hopes he can find some surviving family.
