The captain took one of Dellrak's berries and asked that they be passed out to the others of her crew (six total). "My thanks, good sir. We have run out of our food supplies (much was lost in the crash, or carried off by scavengers) and we have eaten only a few roots for the past few days." After eating the berry, she told her tale, "Ten or twelve days ago, we were surveying the peninsula from the air, and we were assaulted by winged lizard-folk. They tore our sky-bag and carried off the repair crew. We did our best to land, but there was no open space and we hit that enormous tree and broke apart." "Over twice our current number survived the crash, but we made camp on the ground and were beset by ghouls our first night, and we returned to the ship after losing a few crewmen. A day later, I sent a small group to scout the area and they never returned. Three days ago, we lost another man to a very tall flightless bird-like beast with enormous teeth. This jungle is terrible. You are the first civilized folk that we have seen." [ooc]Her story is strange. Kasqa first spotted the ship more than 12 days ago (I'm not sure exactly how long ago that was) from the cliffs of Mbala (post #1310) but he's not good with common and may have missed much of her story. Of course, it has already been established that he shouldn't have been able to see it from there (it was 130 miles away) so maybe it's not all that strange that it might not have even happened yet at the time.
