Qawasha answered Dellrak (regarding if Omuans still existed), "I rather hope not. And yet, I highly doubt the city to be wholly abandoned." The captain agreed with Dellrak (regarding potential exposure), so she ordered a course (rather than directly for the Pillar, which would cross over the city) one that circled from the northwest corner, working southward over the jungle above the cliffs. In this way, the Little Star headed for the pillar in the centre of the lava flow, and yet, nearly everyone peered over the side with great interest. The first sight to behold, was when the ship passed a crumbling old Amphitheatre. Lying lazily in the sun, preening its enormous feathers, was the largest bird-like beast (Tyrannosaur) that anyone aboard had ever seen. It was beautiful and terrifying, and it took no notice of the ship whatsoever, resting as it was in the heat of the day. There was activity in the city to be sure, but much of it kept low to the ground (perhaps to avoid the notice of the great beast). The Little Star kept far enough away that it was difficult to make out the specifics of the movement that was spotted, but movement there was. Certainly some of it was humanoid. As the ship passed near the Palace, Myrral made his suggestion. Captain Bravewing was reluctant to change her orders, but she shrugged and raised an eyebrow to the others to see if there was any consensus. [ooc]Want to drop down to the palace? One of the advantages of going to the Pillar, would be that it would make a pretty safe base from which to expand your way outward. You really don't know what you're looking for, right?[/ooc]
