They were at something of an impasse. Never before had this strange group of loose allies been more united, and yet, with all threats presently dealt with, they began to divide once more. Qawasha saw it happening, and he stepped forward, calling out, "My friends! It is worth noting how far we have come before we proceed. We have Imogen, Chrysagon, and Dellrak, who set out as strangers to this land. They hired myself and Kupalue as jungle guides, but they welcomed us into their group, the Sticks, treating us as equals. Together, we came a long way! From Port Nyanzaru we travelled upriver to Fort Vengeance. From there to the cliffs of Mbala; then across the Aldani Basin, where we met Myrral of the local cat-folk. We found our way to the Heart of Ubtao! As a group we faced many dangers: undead, great lizards, choking vines, and a giant ape!" He paused to let those who were there remember, and then continued, "We found our way, with Ubtao's blessing, to the wreck of the Star Goddess, and we rescued her crew. With the flying ship rebuilt as the Little Star, we flew - flew! - to the Lost City of Omu, where we fought both against, and along-side, our new allies: the Yaun-ti, who had made their home in the lost city and we, the outsiders. These two, Ussal and Yassah, volunteered to accompany us, in spite of their King's misgivings. They have been brave and strong." Determined to leave no one out, he continued, "The Thayans assigned to us Ghorrak, who I am beginning to suspect holds no great love for them. Nor should he. He had little choice to join us, but I think he has chosen to stay, and to help us achieve our goals. A goal that is no less than ending the Death Curse. It may only effect those who have returned from the dead, rotting them away, but it serves a nefarious purpose. It seems that it also empowers the undead of Chult, which I, personally, have vowed to combat in any way that I can." Lastly, he came to his point, saying, "We cannot falter now. We must get organised. We are in the central chamber, the grand staircase. If I have kept my wits, I put us on level two of the Tomb of the Nine. We know not how far down it goes, but we can expect trouble to be everywhere. On the other hand, we cannot know that down will take us any closer to our goals than up. Without a clearer picture of the place as a whole, we will be travelling blind wherever we go. I propose a systematic search. We need not interact with everything that we see, no.
