[QUOTE="JustinCase, post: 7351001, member: 6776182"] As James listens at the door to the storage area, the first thing he notices is that the stench is even worse here. His nose recognizes the smell of urine and feces, as well as rotten and moldy foodstuffs. There is barely any sound coming from the other side of the door; only the faintest buzzing as if flies are moving about lazily. When he opens the door, the buzzing increases as several flies are disturbed and zoom about. The smell is overwhelming; what was once a pantry is obviously now used as both garbage area and goblin toilet. The walls have been stripped of all but items too foul to eat, and bugs are crawling in the filth. The smell assaults the others as well, the appalling goblin stench emanating into the old kitchen. Traubon realizes that the goblins may live underground, but they take and destroy rather than build and create themselves. Many a great place has been defiled by goblins, and it's a miracle that this whole place hasn't been smeared with excrements or covered in goblin graffiti. In fact, by goblin standards this is halfway decent, because since there is a designated toilet the other rooms are probably not as filthy. Thadius looks back at the hallway, weary of any goblins entering the depot after them. It is night, after all, and goblins are usually more active then. But so far, no goblins have shown themselves, either ahead or back outside... Finding her way through the kitchen, holding her hands before her, Magdalena does not bump into anything. After a few moments, her eyes adjust just enough to see just a little bit from the starlight outside reaching the room through the hallway. Although she does not discern their identities, she can see where her allies move and just enough of the rubble in the room to avoid stepping onto it. [ooc]For those making an Insight check and reaching DC 12: [sblock=Insight DC 12]The waste in the former pantry seems to be from the last few weeks. It was probably cleaned out before that, which could explain the 'poisoning' of Thistle, downstream, if the excrements were thrown into the river.[/sblock][/ooc] [/QUOTE]
