Location: Hydra Lair, Dawn Encounter: Earthquake? SnorLoska, having just rescued the prisoner from a muddy grave, is terribly unlucky as a large black rock dislodges itself from the ceiling and lands on him, flattening him into the mud. Next to him, the prisoner lies on the ground and covers his head while Lorenn ducks and covers, keeping his feet. Drako and Torbin find shelter amongst the dead Hydra's heads and hunker-down until the shaking stops, while Udit and Kurzon are forced to the ground, but are otherwise well. The water gains a greenish hue and gives off a foul-smelling stench. Underwater, the genasi siblings swirl around trying to keep their sense of which-way is up. The idol in Terrus' hands gives off a green swirl, (seen only by Terrus) before visibility is reduced to nil by the raising sediment. Terrus considers dropping the idol, but thinks better of it. He'd never find it again. As the shaking subsides, all three genasi understand immediately that the water has been made toxic. Even though they can't see, they coordinate through shared feeling to find their way out onto the muddy beach. The idol appears to have stopped spraying poison, and the ground settles still. Both sending stones make a squeaking noise and then Imani's concerned voice can be heard, "What was that!? Report, please! Are you there?" * * * The stirge was still stabbing away at the crack, determined to have a bat-dinner when everything began to shake. Eko was thrown from his hiding spot as the crack widened with a loud noise. Terrified for a moment that he would be eaten, the little bat's echo-location revealed the stirge flying off in the direction of it's nest, spooked by noise and the shaking rock. [GM]I gave Terrus and Auraia resistance to the poison. While it's toxic to the skin, they're not breathing it in. I imagine that would be worse. SnorLoska can roll the rock off of himself.
