MERP is dead except on the fan level, period. Sad, but true. There is absolutely no chance that any MERP products will ever be published in the future.

And, Ichabod, you are apparently exactly the same person and I would be very foolish to think you owed me any favors. But once or twice? LOL

:)

I consistently worked hard to pay people back at the old ICE and worked hard to do the right thing after all hope was gone in the Chapter 7. And that is apparently a bad thing? Many mistakes were made at the old ICE and I have paid plenty for them even when they were not my mistakes. Unfortunately so did a lot of other people. However, everyone who was working at the company during 1998 and after was on warning that it could be a death march and that includes you. Your employment was your choice and given that your office was about 10 feet from mine and you could hear everything I really doubt much of it was a surprise.

I got the money from the Trustee as I have worked hard for months without thinking I was going to get a dime out of it. Sometimes good deeds are recognized even in a cynical process like bankruptcy.

Thanks for the welcome Grazzt. Wish it was under happier circumstances.

I must admit I am one of the people who still plays AD&D rather then D20, hehe. For some reason I just could never get into D20 and like the feel of AD&D despite all of its weaknesses.

However, as a poster said earlier, this thread should probably be locked.

I understand about MERP, and don't blame you guys. From what I hear about Decipher Tolkein Enterprises is so picky it is making some odd gaps in the new RPG game. Not that that will stop me from wanting to get the book.

Anyway, welcome back in business. Hopefully you guys will come out with something equally as interesting as MERP.

Yep, the new license is supposedly very, very restrictive. I do not envy Decipher their task at all as result and wish them luck. Thankfully, the scope of the license is less of a problem for card games and theirs is doing extremely well.

:D

ICE is looking for experienced authors to write products for 2003 and beyond.

Qualifications required:

Prior publishing credit(s): Applicants must have at least one author credit on published paper rpg/game product, such as a module. This does not include online magazine articles etc.
Excellent writing skills, creativity, and flexibility are a must.
Authors must be able to meet deadlines.
Authors must be able to take direction.
Authors must be familiar with the Rolemaster rules.

Boy those are pretty stiff requirements. JMO you should consider publication in D20 Weekly, Pyramid or J.T.A.S. as real publication.

The standards applied to those zines are pretty high

I wish you good luck BTW, the best Fantasy campaign I ever played in was in Rolemaster Standard System.

Still it will be an uphill battle I am afraid, I tried to induce my 0old play group to take up RM again and the results were uniformy negative.

Even the "Owns everybook" Rolemaster head/rules guru guy would rather play 3e.
